I Know What a Perfect Day
posted February 14, 2009
On January 31, 2002, Enron was about seven months away from the beginning of its collapse. The company was in the midst of perpetrating the “rolling blackouts” in that betrayed and endangered millions of people in California. Against the backdrop of the infallibility of late American capitalism, Amanda and Mike had more important things to think about:
A: We're going to be sitting kina close after the move.
M: perfect, are you working with me
A: Yeah, right. I wish! I am working for Chris still and Scott Neal.
M: thats not bad
A: No, I'm actually pretty happy about the deal. Not as happy as I would be if I were working for you.
M: we will have to work on that in the future
A: I think so, I would treat you better than she can
M: you can anyway
A: and I'm ready to anytime
M: now
A: let’s go
M: you cant unfortunately
A: I know, but if you were my boss, then I would be able to
M: thats a very good point, i need to work that out, how are you feeling
A: I think you need to too. I am feeling okay, except for this headache that is creeping up. How are you today? Were you here yesterday?
M: im a little hung over, i was here for a little while yesterday, are you still sore
A: I'm not so sore anymore, it’s only certain days now, not all the time. It sure looks like it’s raining outside (hint-hint)
M: i know what a perfect day, ready
A: I'm always ready
M: lets go
A: yeah right
M: you wont get in trouble
A: I will too
M: ok , well lets make it soon
A: deal, but I won’t be able to until next week. This week is crazy!
M: ok, i think im going to take off in a minute, i will talk to you tomorrow
A: Okay, have a good night
M: you too
A true story, freely subpoenable. I'm eagerly awaiting an adaptation for the stage.
